Authentic hand-carved West African hardwood ceremonial bowl, raised on eight carved legs, dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1970s). Based on construction, materials, and carving style, this piece is most likely of Yoruba origin from Nigeria.

This is not modern décor or tourist carving. The bowl was carved from a single block of dense, tight-grain hardwood and shows clear hand-tool work, natural patina, and age-appropriate use wear consistent with authentic mid-century African carving.

Diameter: 9.5". Height: 4". Legs: 8

Several strong stylistic and structural characteristics align closely with Yoruba prestige and ceremonial carving traditions: (a) Eight-leg configuration (b) Geometric rim decoration. (c) Balanced proportions (d) Tight-grain hardwood

Very good vintage condition. No cracks, breaks, or repairs. Authentic surface wear and patina consistent with age and hand use
