History of Kemple and Wheaton glass
The partnership between the two companies created a distinct era for this glassware.
Kemple Glassworks (1945–1970): John E. Kemple originally ran his glass company using antique pressed glass molds, and his products were often identified with a "K" mark. He made milk glass and colored glassware, including pieces in the Lace and Dewdrop pattern, before the company closed in 1970.
Wheaton Glass (1970s): After Kemple's death, the Wheaton Historical Association bought many of the molds. Between 1970 and 1979, Wheaton reproduced Kemple's designs, including the Lace and Dewdrop pattern, in various colors, including turquoise blue glass.
