This is a vintage cut glass carafe or decanter, likely from the American Brilliant Period (1876-1917). The pattern is often referred to as "Cane Shield" or "Brazilian Pattern No. 600".
The carafe is made of hand-cut crystal glass.
It features a band of sunbursts and diamonds with a fan and diamond pattern above it.
The design is distinguished by having exactly four sunbursts in the band.
The item was intended for use with water or whiskey and was not meant to have a lid. It also turns green under a blue light. It's in very good condition, no chips or cracks. Has a little hard water deposit.
