3" ANRI Juan Ferrandiz Hand Carved Wood 'Tuba Boy' Figurine

ANRI carvings are in many cases more highly valued now than on the day they were created. ANRI shut down permanently on January 31, 2021 which means ANRI figurines will only become increasingly rare and more valuable over time.
This genuine hand-crafted and hand-painted wood carving was designed by the artist Juan Ferrandiz, a painter who wrote poetry and a poet who painted pictures. He received his artistic education at the “Reial Académia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi” in Barcelona, later became himself an art professor and devoted himself to the design of figures based on his particular predilection for childish themes. His collaboration with ANRI allowed the ANRI Master carvers to bring many of his designs to life. Juan Ferrándiz passed away in August 1997, at the age of 79.
This piece was carved from a single block of wood. Every cut was worked by hand and every detail carefully hand brushed with special oil-based colors. The underside of the base has the ©ANRI metal disc.
